Interview with an ontime Ora Hotels-Carrera rider Alessandro Malaguti (Vini Fantini-Nippo-De Rosa)

BringaCafe: Alessandro, what’s your story with cycling, how did you came up to this sport?

AM: I came up whatching my brother who raced until Dilettant. Then he was a sport director of 11-12 years old guys in a team of my city and when i saw a race of those guys i decided to race. I was 9 years old

BringaCafe: You raced for a hunagrian team Ora Hotels-Carrera in 2011. How important was this team in your development?

AM: It was really important because i had much experience that helps me now. I had a victory in Vuelta Uruguay that year.

BringaCafe: How was the step from Continental team Miche to the Androni Giocattoli?

AM: Team Miche had problems in the start of the season so with my manager i had a contact with Gianni Savio. Then after he saw my curriculum he gave me a contract for the next season.

BringaCafe: You’ve had one win  and many other good results, especially in one-day races. What are your best memories from 2013? 

AM: Surely the victory was my grate day but before i was good in STRADE BIANCHE where i was in the 1st bunch until 20 km to the finish and we was only 24 riders in the front. Unfortunately a crash got me out of the games and i finish behind my race.

BringaCafe: Was there a race that left you disappointed? 

AM: Giro D’Italia, in that period i had a good condition but the team decided to not take me for the race. Then i had Sick and i couldn’t demonstrate it.

BringaCafe: How did you get in touch with Vini Fantini-Nippo De Rosa, and what made you transfer there? 

AM: In August Savio sad me that he couldn’t renew my contract because he needed a grimpeur. So i called Alessandro Spezialetti that i knew and he bring me with the team. Now he is the secondary sport director of the team and i want to thank him with results now.

BringaCafe: Please descirbe your new team.

AM: It’s a young team, many neoprof and i will be with Pierpaolo De Negri, Alessandro Bisolti and Takashi Miyazawa, one of the „old” of the team. There are 7 japanese guys and it is an interesting project for the future. The Manager, the sponsor and the directors what to demonstrate that cycling is in a new era.

BringaCafe: What will be your goals for 2014?

AM: In the start of the season will be some good race for me, i will do my best in Coppi e Bartali and then i’d like to bee good in the italian championships.

BringaCafe: One more question: how does a normal day looks like for you, when you’re not on the bike? What are your hobbies? 

AM: I like see movies, go out with friends and i love eat what i can’t in the season. I like visit the cytis in Italy and travel.
